The Mission is San Diego’s newest literary arts mag and the first new arts periodical in San Diego for 40 years.
The Mission is to recollect our humanity through the expressive arts, particularly the literary arts.
Because before we are anything else, we are fathers and mothers, sons and daughters and brothers and sisters.

The Mission periodical contains original, unpublished poetry, short fiction, comics (sequential art), film, photography, visual arts, essays and features about art in the everyday
The Mission will feature a mirrored web presence called The Mission Channel that will feature an archive of the latest issue of the magazine going all the way

The Mission is published by the Not-for-Profit organization The Mission Arts LLC and is privately financed. We are volunteer driven and the first people that get paid are our contributing artists, designers, poets and writers.
The magazine will be for sale for under $9.00 and will feature all new literary and art work owned by our contributors who will retain full copyright on their original work.

Our Art Director is the Amazing Rian Hughes Our editors are Igor Goldkind, Dr. Miles Krogfus, Christopher R and Deborah Ramos and our editorial board includes Alex Bosworth, Jessie Horsting and Amy Horsting. Our first issue will include new work by Ellyn Maybe, Neil Gaiman and Nicca Ray, daughter of the late director Nicholas Ray and many surprise authors and artists from the genre of comics and popular arts. We are hoping to launch this coming September after accumulating enough content for 3 issues in advance.
